We are especially delighted to welcome back the wonderful John F Deane, prize winning poet and novelist. John is the founder of Poetry Ireland, Poetry Ireland Review, and the Daedalus Press. He is a member of Aosdana and recognized across Europe for his contributions to poetry. John will impart nuggets of his poetic wisdom to inspire the eager poets among you and delight us by reading some of his work.

John will also announce the results of a poetry writing competition and present the writer with the Ian Pollock ‘Mystery Key’ Sculpture at the end of the event.

We are very excited to have Emmet Kirwan renowned playwright, poet, actor, from Tallaght joining us.  He is known for his play ‘Dublin Oldschool’, his poem ‘Heartbreak’, and more recently his transformative hit show ‘ACCENTS’. This afternoon Emmet will perform for us some of his powerful spoken word verse.

The NurePoets, (a WhatsApp based poetry appreciation/writing group), will recite some poems by famous poets as they appeared in the 5 volumes of poetry, produced by the group to date.

Eileen Gogan, singer/songwriter, who draws directly from poetry for her material, will treat us to her beautiful singing ,interspersed with the poetry.
